“New Yorkers Seth Campbell and Nick Cohen created upper Echelon Shoes in 2005. Originally, their sneakers were made solely for men. But they continued to hear from retailers that women were falling in love with the designs and trying to fit their tiny feet into smaller men’s sizes. Soon enough, the two decided that they would add a women’s branch to the company, hoping to bring new flavor and fill a void in the women’s sneaker category.

Since the line dropped, we’ve already begun to see some pretty fly designs from UES. Their debut collection features mostly hightop styles in an array of simple solid colors. But to add a little pizzazz, the designers included some hard-edged details, such as metal studs, buckles, and 18K gold and sterling silver chain-link laces. Owwww!”
